Real love stories never have endings

“Real love stories never have endings”. Richard Bach. Could it be some kind of mysterious, even divine continuity? Some of us at some point of time may have met someone who we felt like we could spend an eternity with. It is supposed that the idea of finding a soulmate is a common concept all around the world, though, of course, everybody has different ideas about what that might actually mean.

The following quotes reveal different points of view and bring perspective to different ideas of love and might make one think about one’s own relationships and what one might want from them.

1.   I want to be your soulmate, even if I don’t believe in them. Colleen Hoover

2.   A bond between souls is ancient – older than the planet. Dianna Hardy

3.   Giving someone a piece of your soul is better than giving a piece of your heart. Because souls are eternal.  Helen Boswell

4.   Our universe grants every soul a twin- a reflection of themselves - the kindred spirit – And no matter where they are or how far away they are from each other- even if they are in different dimensions, they will always find one another. This is destiny; this is love. Julie Dillon

5.   I couldn’t imagine that I’d ever fall in love again like I had with Gideon. For better or worse, he was my soulmate. The other half of me. In many ways, he was my reflection. Sylvia Day

6.   Have you ever felt really close to someone? So close that you can’t understand why you and the other person have two separate bodies, two separate skins? Nancy Garden

7.   …and when one of them meets the other half, the actual half of himself, whether he be a lover of youth or a lover of another sort, the pair are lost in an amazement of love and friendship and intimacy and one will not be out of the other’s sight, as I may say, even for a moment… Plato

8.   She lives her life like a flame; a dance of purposeful chaos.… Her enchanting light can guide you and quell your fears… She’s hot; warming those who respect her and burning those who don’t… She is a flame with an unforgettable glow… A weak man will try to dim her luminance… but her soul mate will take pleasure in fanning the blaze. Steve Mariboli

9.   Our souls already know each other, don’t they? It’s our bodies that are new. Karen Ross

10.               You have half our gifts. I the other. Together we make a whole. Together we are much more powerful. Joss Stirling

11.               People give flowers as presents because flowers contain the true meaning of love. Anyone tries to possess a flower will have to watch its beauty fading. But if you simply look at a flower on a field, you will keep it forever, because the flower is part of the evening and the sunset and the smell of damp earth and the clouds on the horizon. Paulo Coelho

12.               There was something in her eyes that made me trust her. Maybe it was because they held the same cynicism, the same world-weariness I saw in my own every morning when I looked at myself in the mirror. Melika Dannese Lux

13.               A soulmate is the one person whose love is powerful enough to motivate you to meet your soul, to do the emotional work of self-discovery, of awakening. Kenny Loggins

14.               If I know what love is, it is because of you.  Herman Hesse
15.               When you’re in love, you’re capable of learning everything and knowing things you had never dared even to think, because love is the key to understanding of all the the mysteries. Paulo Coelho

16.               The greatest love stories are not those in which love is only spoken, but those in which it is acted upon. Steve Maraboli

17.               What are the chances you’d ever meet someone like that? he wondered. Someone you could love forever, someone who would forever love you back? And what did you do when that person was born half a world away? The math seemed impossible. Rainbow Rowell

18.               I recognized you instantly. All of our lives flashed through my mind in a split second. I felt a pull so strongly towards you that I almost couldn’t stop it.  J. Sterling

19.               If grass can grow through cement, love can find you at every time in your life. Cher

20.               True love is finding your soulmate in your best friend.  Faye Hall

21.               What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined to strengthen each other, to be at one with each other in silent unspeakable memories. George Eliot

22.               In all the world, there is no heart for me like yours. In all the world, there is no love for you like mine. Maya Angelou

23.               People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that’s what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life. Elizabeth Gilbert

To some, the concept is a literal, embellished, metaphysical one. Some people believe that a soulmate is someone they knew in another lifetime, or maybe even in many lifetimes. To others, the idea is more metaphorical. It represents a special person whom one can connect with on a spiritual level. To some, soulmates reflect our very own true natures. To others, they are simply those who deserve the very best from us. Soulmates can be romantic partners, best friends, or even just wonderful people who pass through one’s life and make a genuine difference,

Life is meant to be beautiful

Life is meant to be beautiful.  One grows up with hopes and dreams of things turning out for the personal best. One tries one’s best to be positive and make the most of life. One is an optimist as long as can be. And yet, sometimes what begins well doesn’t progress as nicely as it possibly could. Challenges come up frequently and they have to be handled well each time. If one is able to weather the storms and keep up the tempo of courage and perseverance, one might find that things have gradually changed for the better for them in the long run. It is all about how one is able to cope with things that seem tough. There may be a point of time when one may feel like giving up, and then, it’s as if, let me try just one more time! That is the spirit that often gets you on board!

In my book Soulmates Never Part, Sheila Kumar lives a normal life until things go out of control for her. The situation goes on to become so bad that she needs support, a support that is non-judgmental and undemanding and something that casually uplifts her emotionally. It is difficult a period of her life and no one she actually knows in real life is proper enough to share her life’s dilemma and her pain. She isn’t able to vibe with anyone or trust anyone with her situation that is emotionally over burdening her. And no, she is not on the rebound. She isn’t consciously looking towards any attachment, let alone love or a relationship. She wants to feel better, she wants to look after herself well. She doesn’t want a nervous breakdown. She wants to live.

Does this sometimes happen to people in real life too? Do people ever wish that there was just this ‘someone else’ who would pop out of the blue and be there for us when we need it? Someone who would be understanding, non-judgmental, undemanding, distant and yet close enough to be trusted?

Maybe that is just a human need of a circumstance and there is no dearth of good humans in the world, both real and virtual. I have been told by many that they are actually on the internet looking for that ‘total friend’ that they have never had. That is the reason why they keep adding friends hoping to find the right person. However, no one seems to hold for long enough. The expected vibes don’t happen. And yet, sometimes they do and friendships happen that last. But love? No, that doesn’t happen easily and not often. Not the real thing anyway.

Soulmates Never Part travels through time, circumstances and situations that bring two people, absolute strangers, together. Soon, Abel hints that they are Soulmates and Sheila learns the fact slowly. What begins with a quiet curiosity slowly progresses through understandings, love, trust, faith and is shattered hopelessly. But then, if love is true and strong enough, it finds its way one way or the other, doesn’t it?

Why would somebody go in for a long distance relationship? Can it be as satisfying as a normal one? How easy or difficult can it be?

Soulmates Never Part, through Sheila and Abel’s connection, takes a shot at finding an answer.

Cheers!!

Cheers!!

It has been a while! I have been busy, mostly with my writing, working on my website and also catching up with many a things.

Since I last wrote here, many a festivals have come and gone, and Birthdays and Anniversaries enjoyed. I have made many new friends, and unfortunately lost, a couple of them too who left untimely for their heavenly abode. I guess that's life. Time is precious and so are people. And hence, we should make time for people, especially those who need us.

The response to my book has been lovely, and what I especially like is what my readers have to say, in their reviews as also in their messages to me on my Author Page in my Facebook.

Many of them have questions like: Is it a true story? Is it your story? Is love so strong? Are soulmates for real? Others bluntly ask me what my next book is going to be about! One of my readers said, “I still do read, and I still do believe in true love, no matter what has happened to me. And your book has been a good one for me!”

I am working on my next book now. I have been overwhelmed by people liking Soulmates Never Part and that has been the greatest encouragement.

Maha Shivratri

Maha Shivratri is one of the most important festivals for Indians.  It is believed to mark the day when Lord Shiva married Goddess Parvati and became a householder from a hermit, muniwar

It is also believed that on Maha Shivratri, Lord Shiva became Neelkantha or the blue-throated one by willfully swallowing the deadly poison that came up during the Sagar Manthan, the churning of Kshir Sagar or the milky ocean. The poison was so deadly that even if a drop reached His stomach, which represents the universe, it would have annihilated the entire world. Hence, He held it in His neck, which turned blue due to the effect of poison. Maha Shivratri is therefore also a day of thanksgiving to Lord Shiva for protecting mankind from annihilation.

One other story associated with Maha Shivratri is that once Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu had a bout as to who among the two was superior. As the fight aggravated, a burning pillar or lingam appeared between the two of them. A voice from the lingam resonated that the one who is able to find the end of the lingam would be judged as the superior of the two. So, Lord Brahma went towards the upper end of the lingam and Lord Vishnu towards the lower end. But neither of them was able to find the end of the burning pillar. After a while, Lord Vishnu realized that the lingam had no end and he stopped searching for it and admitted defeat. Lord Brahma, however, decided to lie that He had found the end of the lingam and He brought the Ketaki flower to testify His lie. At this, the all-knowing Lord Shiva became extremely outraged. He cursed Lord Brahma that He would never be worshipped on Earth. This legend explains that Lord Shiva is the superior of all the Gods and that He is the beginning Adi of everything and He has no end, He is Ananta. It is believed that it was the day of Shivratri when Lord Shiva manifested Himself first time in the form of a lingam.

Legends are many but the fervor is impeccable. An immensely special day. Har Har Mahadev.
